Probably something very easy but we cannot figure out the ADK stuff. We have downloaded the kit but when installing Ghost it asks to point to where it is. it appears to be looking for an exe file and the only one I see is the downloaded adksetup.exe we got from microsoft. All we want to do is make images of our machines here. We are able to find the computers on the network, install the client software from ghost but when it comes time to image we are stuck.

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks,

You need to run ADKSETUP.EXE to install the ADK on your system before you install Ghost. The ADK contains the base files for WinPE which Ghost uses to create the bootable environments it uses.

This has become necessary because Microsoft no longer allow vendors to bundle WinPE in with their products, so you now need to download the ADK which contains the necessary files.

    Thank you for the reply.

We did run adksetup.exe first.  While installing Ghost Solution Suite 3.0, prompted to select the pre-boot operating system for Boot Disk Creator.  When we select WinPE for x86 and x64, it wants us to browse to the Windows ADK 9.1 installer file.  See first picture.  We select the adksetup.exe file, click Next, and the second picture below shows what those settings are.  We click on Next, Next, Next and during the install when it gets to "Creating Pre-boot Environment" we get the error in the third picture.

    thank you again!

Could you try installing entirely from the C: drive ?

I'm wondering if the installer process has something hard coded to C:\ and is unable to correctly install with content on D:\
