  • 1.  Help! How to protect multiple different POP3 & SMTP ports in Endpoint Protection?

    Posted Dec 05, 2009 03:32 AM
We are using Symantec Endpoint Protection 11, installed on computers running Vista and Windows 7 with each box managing on their own (no central management).

We are using Thunderbird as the email clients. Each user has multiple email accounts which using different POP3 and SMTP ports. For example, POP3 ports may be 110 and 111. SMTP may be 25 and 26 and 465 (for secured SMTP). In addition, for secured mails, we use IMAP 993 and 995.

How do I enter MULTIPLE POP3 ant SMTPS in the dialog box under Connection Settings in Internet Email Advanced Options? It only allows one number to be entered. Can you put a comma, space, dash, etc., to include multiple ports?

I can't figure it out how. Please help?

    Just to clarify,

For the same user using different email accounts that require different POP3 ports, this is not possible??

Long ago, we used Norton Internet Security where this is possible. We switched over to SEP because this is less intrusive. Are you saying that the only solution is to switch back to Norton Internet Security?

pretty much sure that its not possible.
