HELP! IDR restoring is having security issue
Hi,
I am trying to do the IDR restore for a Windows XP machine with a new hard drive. I am using BE12.5, and I created the boot cd sucessfully. I pop the disk in, went through the manual restor, restore from a remote media, enter the server name and got to the part where they ask you to submit the job from the media server. I started the job just fine, but it would run until 95%, then the error: Access denied would pop up at the client end, and I have to cancel
the job. I went back to the media server and look at the logbook, the error is:
"Completed status: Failed Final error: 0xe0008488 - Access is denied. Final error category: Security Errors "
I have tried with local admin as well as domain admin account, they all failed. I also made sure the username didn't include the work admin in it because I read some thread and it says it could be a potential problem. The only other issue I can think of is that the CD I used to create the boot CD is a Win Server 2008, and I am trying to restore a Win XP. I don't know if that could be a problem or not, but I thought all the boot CD does is to just load up a functional UI so I can touch the media server to start a retore.
Can someone help? The admin guide isn't helpful at all, it is kind of frustrating how little documentation Symantec provides with this software beside the forum.
Best,
Charx
