HELP The input OTP does not meet policy requirements ERROR When Connecting VPN on IPAD

Created: 17 Jan 2013 • Updated: 04 Feb 2013 | 2 comments

Hi there,

I am having some problem connecting the VPN native client on the IPAD.

It keeps prompting me Unable to Authenticate User on my IPAD device.

From my Symantec VIP Logs, I get this below :

ERROR    "2013-02-04 18:42:47.960 GMT+0800"  10.10.10.30 ValidationEngine 0 18501 "text=[VSWebServiceClient] The input OTP does not meet policy requirements, OTP length = 14, user=vipadmin, bizCont=off" Thread-3480 VSValidationEngine.c
AUDIT    "2013-02-04 18:42:47.960 GMT+0800"  10.10.10.30 ValidationEngine 0 18501 "text=Access DENIED [VSWebServiceClient] The input OTP does not meet policy requirements, OTP length = 14, user=vipadmin, bizCont=off" Thread-3480 VSValidationEngine.c
AUDIT    "2013-02-04 18:42:47.960 GMT+0800"  10.10.10.30 ValidationEngine 0 18501 "text=Access 0" Thread-3480 VSValidationEngine.

Any idea how do I go about this?

Assuming that my ID is a domain ID called ABC\vipadmin

and password is VIP

Assuming also my Credential ID is VSST55555555

and Security Code is 33333

How do I key this in my IPAD's VPN IPSEC Setup? Their current PALO ALTO VPN only Supports IPSEC Settings

Hello Aidil,

In order to authenticate the userID in LDAP, you will need to configure the User Store. When the User Store is configured, you will then have the ability to configure the Self Service Portal, VIP Manager, and LDAP Sync. You can then test the token validation (second factor authentication) at the Self Service Portal as long as the UserID is associated with a Credential ID.

Hi there,

Thanks for the tip, have done as you have advised however we are having a new error now. I have edited my statement to reflect the new error as above. Hoping you could share your expertise in this.
