I have an issue with the chassis mentioned in the title, I had been using GSS2.5 on the previous generation of this chassis (Dell T3400, IBM S10) successfully before. NICs works fine under PE mode.

On the new generation of chassis that I am testing, they are using
    1684 BCM5764 NetXtreme Desktop/Mobile
that's according to Broadcom and the DEV ID.

And these models shares the same drivers
    Broadcom 5702, 5705, 5751, 5752, 5753, 5754, 5755, 5782, 57760.

Does anyone have successfully get their NIC working in PE mode for these units (IBM S20, HP Z400, Dell T3500) with GSS2.5 ?

    Thanks in advance,

Try donwloading latest Vista-based drivers from Broadcom and injecting those to WInpe that comes with GSS 2.5 using Ghost boot wizard, Winpe editor. Make sure that device IDs that NIC refers to are included in the INF file for the driver. Winpe does driver matching based on INF file.

The WinPE boot environment can be either 32 bit or 64 bit, but I would assume that the version used by GSS is the 32 bit implementation. So stick with 32 bit drivers.

Tried rebuild the GSS server with all the live update. Still no luck. Although this time, it give a different reason of failing. (Client failed to restart properly) .

Note: PC-DOS will restart it properly. just not in PE mode.

    Any help appreciated. !

When you boot to PE GSS will ensures that you always do get back to your normal OS no matter what happens during the boot. That is we have special boot code that boots Winpe but if something goes wrong during the boot, next time you reboot it will boot back to OS.

Does you client machine boot to Winpe at all?
