I created a manual single .exe package that I use to install SEP. The package has preconfigured settings and places the computer in the appropriate group in SEPM. All of that is working fine however once the client is installed the definitions are very out of date and it never grabs an update from SEPM.
If I download and run the Intelligent Updater it will update the defs and from that point forward the definitions stay current and download from SEPM. If I check the client I can see it is communicating with SEPM just fine.
I turned on SYLINK debug log and grabbed a log after pressing the FIXIT button on the client immediately after a new install. It doesn't work but I am not able to figure out what the problem is.
Why don't my new SEP installs grab defs from SEPM until i run the Intelligent Updater even though the client appears to be connected and talking to SEPM. I have a single SEPM server and no GUPs. I am running versions:
