  • 1.  Help on outsourcing of departments

    Hi there,

we have a customer running >700 SEP clients managed by SEPM.

No we have to prepare one of the customer´s departments for future outsourcing. The department has to act standalone until it is sold.

Should we create another site for this or a completely new "instance" of SEPM within the department? Or, as another option, what is best practice to handle this?

    Thank you!

    Regards,

    Marius

it actually depends how the policies are going to be defined and implement. I personally would perfer to manage it in a seprate SEPM if you are planing to outsoure it and not manage it anymore.

It's whatever is easiest for you to manage.

You could create a separate group(s) and move the machines there. This way you will be able to assign them their own policies without affecting others.

The department belongs the the company but when it is sold, all IT shall be taken with it. So what about an own site with own server that will be plugged out and handed over to the new company, would that be an option?

Sure it will. You just need to make sure you're licensed accordingly for it. The issue is to make sure you're licensed for it, setting up the site is easy.
