Help with PXE deployment using WinPE
When I boot to automation for imaging via the WinPE pre-boot OS, it hangs up on the DHCP.
I am in VMWare, running XP on a VLA license. My servers are Windows 2008 (DHCP) and Windows 2003 (DS 6.9). Got any ideas, or is this a VMware problem?

VMWare and WinPE
There are issues with VMware and WinPE. You will need to add a driver to the PXE image to get it to work and possible something else. Try doing a search with WinPE and VMWare in Juice. You will find this is a common problem.
RE: Help with PXE deployment using WinPE
Hello,
I wrote an article that addresses the issue :) https://www-secure.symantec.com/community/tip/2919...
However, there is a faster way to address WinPE - VMWARe, when u create a Virtual Machine select the OS to be Vista or Windows 2008 Server. This forces the use of the e1000 NIC driver (This is even if your create a XP or 2003 OS).
Hope this helps,
Nelson
