    Hi,

I recently installed SEP 11.0.3001.2224 on my laptop, running Windows XP Pro SP3 with no other antivirus, firewall, security software, etc. installed on it.  I am using a wireless connection with WPA2 encryption.  When I first turn on my computer,  I can connect to the internet without a problem, however, within 5-15 mins, I lose the connection.  I am unable to re-establish it until I disable the Network Threat Protection in SEP.  Is the solution as simple as creating a rule or allowance that's not included in the default configuration of the firewall?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jeff

Open SEP - NTP -Change settings - Firewall - MIcrosoft Windows Networking - Select the Wireless adapter from the drop down and selct allow file and print sharing..

Also check the Traffic logs and check what exactly is getting blocked what protocol or port.

Its seem to be fiewall settings issue. You can make the neccessary firwall configuraion change.
You can use this link for the best practises.

Ok, I enabled the File and Print Sharing under the Winows Networking Tab, still having the same problem though.  The logs show that any IP or ETHERNET traffic is blocked.  When the connection is working, TCP and UDP are allowed. Ports are N/A or 0 for all ETHERNET and IP traffic.

It's also an unmanaged client, if that helps or makes any difference.
