Hi,

Do we know how well CMS 6 will get along with Helpdesk 7? (apart from the fact that Helpdesk prob needs its own box being 64bit and 4 gig ram)

I have a client who is looking to purchase Helpdesk 7 but only upgrade to CMS 7 in the next 4-6 months time...

Regards Steve

You will need at least a NS 7

You will need at least a NS 7 server too, Service Desk 7 Solution will only install on the 7 platform and uses CMDB 7. CMS 6 will not work with Service Desk 7.

Take a look at the implementation guide

it should help plan any setup and implemetation of SD. You could pull in resources from the v6 box to the CMDB on the NS7 box. However Rob is 100% right on. You're going to needs at least one NS7 box for the Service Desk Solution.

So conceivably, you could have an NS6 box, with data being imported via connector to the NS7 box, and then passing the required data onto the Service Desk Box.

Or you could upgrade to CMS7 (which has it's own areas to be cautious with).
