Helpdesk and Server Hardenin

Hi All,
I have Helpdesk Solution installed on Win Server 2003.
The client intends to do Server Hardening for security reasons on the Helpdesk Server using Microsoft Security policy. So, I need to know if this is going to affect the operation of the Helpdesk or the Notification System and What configuration should I do on the application to avoid any problems?

I'm not 100% sure if this has HelpDesk included, but https://kb.altiris.com/article.asp?article=34454&p=1 has links to the ports and protocols in use by the 6 platform, as well as the Notification Server hardening guide.
