Helpdesk delete multiple contacts

We are just in the middle of implementing Helpdesk and I accidentally imported some bad contacts. I have several hundred so I would like a way to do a select all or batch delete. All of my bad contacts have a number 0-9 in the name. I can easily find them but, the delete screen from the contacts menu makes you select them one at a time.

Any suggestions.

Thanks in advance for any help

Bombs away?

Depending on how many contacts you have in their and where you are with your implementation you may want to do recreate the Altiris Incidents database.

Another option would be to script the deletion of these contacts.

And another option would be to set the contacts to inactive within the database. They would still be present which is annoying.

good luck,

Eliminate Steve... from your DB.

If my manager asked me to delete all users named steve from my Helpdesk DB I would use the following.

Use Altiris_incidents
Select id from contact
where name like 'Steve%' –- Set this to the appropriate criteria.

The results would be:

152
153
154

Then use these results as such:

Use Altiris_incidents
exec dbo.sp_deletecontactsbyidlist ‘152,153,154’

Hope this helps.... in your case I would use the SQL of

Use Altiris_incidents
Select id from contact
where name like '0-9%' –- Set this to the appropriate criteria.
