Hi All! how does snapshot manage to create cache of whole volume either in VSS and VSP?

1:- If the backup of d drive is 100 GB will it create 100 gb cache on the drive?
2:- What is the maximum cache size in VSS i belive in VSP its 30gb ? If the backup that needs to be taken is more than 100 GB how will snapshot manage to create cache file size in 30 GB?
