Hi,

Only 1 of 2 choices here:

1. If you can downgrade to Windows Server 2008 R2, then BE 2012 with SP2 will run on that server.

2. If you can't, wait till BE 2012 R2 Beta is released early next year...and in stating this, I'm not being funny either.

If it is urgent that you get backups running, and can't downgrade, wait, or find another server to run backups in the meantime, then you'd need to look elsewhere.

Thanks!

If you are unwilling to wait till the release of Backup Exec 2012 R2(which would support installation of Backup Exec as a Media Server on a Windows Server 2012) then a possible workaround is:
1. We would need a separate server which would work with Windows Server 2008 R2.
Note: An evaluation version of Windows Server 2008 R2 for 180 days can be obtained by referring to the following link:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=11093
2. Install Backup Exec 2012 on the server which is running on Windows Server 2008 R2. You may refer to the following link for getting help on it:
Step By Step guide to download and install Backup Exec 2012

3. Install the Backup Exec 2012 Agent for Windows on the Windows Server 2012 by referring to the following link:
How to install Backup Exec 2012 Agent for Windows
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH179142

Note: Your Tape Library would then need to be connected to the server which runs Windows Server 2008 R2.

Why are you essentially repeating what has been said earlier?
