I want to know if its possible to hide the Altiris Icon that is deployed on users machine. Not the Icon that is in the system try, I want to hide the icon that is displayed in the Add remove programs. When the agent was first installed the agent was installed with the option to list the agent in control panel "Add remove programs". is there any way I can hide this?

    1) Edit the registry - Find the key in the following location for the Altiris Agent. It should be similar to this (but may be a guid folder instead) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Uninstall \AltirisAgent

You need to add a REGDWORD entry called SystemComponent and set the value to 1.

2)You could just try redeploying the agent with the /noaddremoveprograms switch

By default, most newer versions don't show up, but these are two possible ways around your issue.

Perfect, the first one worked for me. I had to place it in a folder named altiris agent and the guid ID folder

    Thanks

I would like to hide icon from system tray.  know of 2 methods

    1) edit the regitry key to set NOTRAYICON to "0" --> customer dislike the idea as there are many clients
    2) reinstall the agent from client AxeNSC.exe /NOTRAYICON --> not removed

due to some hardening scripts issue, the NS server is now non-contactable hence can't redeploy from console.

Is there any other way this can be done?

    Thanks
