HKLM Entry ....

Created: 22 Jan 2013 | 3 comments

Hi All,,

Does any one know how do we import registry entries under SWV packages or in to the layer? I tried to do it with Postinstallation Script with .reg file, but did not work well.. I want to basically add DNS_ Suffix entries under

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Tcpip\Parameters]

Any Advise?

Nikhil.

Hello Nikhil,

You can add entries to layer registry from layer properties.

  1. Prepare a .reg file.
  2. Deactivate the layer.
  3. Right clck on the layer and select Properties.
  4. Click on the registry tab.
  5. Select and right click the portion of the RO-sublayer where you want to inport registry entries.
  6. Select import and browse to the location where you stored the .reg file, select the file and click Open.
  7. The regitry is now imported.

Even if you can add/change/remove(hide) registry through a virtual layer I don't think that that would work as it's part of the TCP/IP driver "deep into" ;) base.

@angelD ,

Exactly I tried that way I did not work. But now I am able to import the reg entries using add new layer feature but I can see entries under my layer hive but not reflecting when I activate the layer.. :-(

Let's see....
