TOOLS\NOSUPPORT\FASTCGI\FASTCGI_SETUP_README.PDF on CD2 will give you more information about it. The changes are reversible by changing the PHP processor in IIS back to php, rather than FastCGI

We applied the FastCGI in an earlier version , I think MR2 not quite sure though , anyway since upgrading to MR3 then MR4 , MR4 MP1a the reporting functions are getting slower and slower and slower , everytime we log a call the response is:

    a) apply FastCGI ( already done )

    or

    b) Supply log files wait 2 -3 weeks for these to be looked at then get the response , Install next service pack this will fix

    not quite helping......

Alerady FCGISETUP was installed and configured as per .pdf instruction after that the error mesage "unable to communicate with reporting component" displyed.

I wish I had an answer - I have same situation. I have tried running the console DIRECTLY from the server by using the VMWare console connection so I'm working at the server desktop, I've tried from VISTA 64(my normal workstation) and from XP Pro 32bit SP3 and it's still slow. At times pages simply don't come up, and it's been crashing a lot lately.
So count me also looking for solution. FastCGI didn't really do anything to help.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled JAVA, no change, maybe worse at crashing.
In fact, the console on Vista and XP both crashed 2 times yesterday.
