This weekend i had to replace the sql server my sepm5 database was on.  All i did was backup the database using sql and restore using sql.  I also restored the same logins.

When i fired up my SEPM it said it could not connect to the database.  So I went thru the configuration wizard and made sure it connected to the database which it did.

When I went to open the SEPM i get "errorcode: 0x10010000" but then it logs me in.  All of my data is there users, polices installs but the Home, Monitors, and reporting screens are blank.

I have checked the event logs and nothing is showing.  My clients are connected and running fine with the server but the report screens are not working.

I have seen several post about this but nothing in them has worked.

    Any ideas?

Does your SEPM use SQL or Windows authentication to access the DB?  As you've replaced the SQL Server itself, the restore DB probably now has an orphaned local account within it, that holds the required rights.  If you've changed the account the SEPM uses for DB access, then you need to make sure it is the db_owner.

But considering all of the docs kept pointing to this being a permission issue I attempted to log in to the machine as the account used for connecting to the database.  Viola it worked.

So now i logged back in as the domain admin and wouldnt ya know it is still working.  So that really doesnt make much sense to me but oh well.

Thank you guys so much for all your help!
