  • 1.  "Host Group Already Exists" When Importing Firewall Policy

Building a new SEPM. Importing the policies. (They didn't want to add this server as a replication partner....don't ask why.)

When importing one of our firewall policies I'm getting a popup asking "Host group XXX already exists..." and it's asking to keep existing policy, overwrite, or create new.

Not sure what to do at this point.

While importing other policies aren't you getting same warning?

I would suggest to create new one.

Do you have host groups in that policy your importing?

This is a firewall policy and yes, there are host groups in the policy. The host groups have already been imported to the new SEPM.

you should  select to overwrite the existing option

How can I add a large number of hosts to a Host Group in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM)?

I'm not adding hosts to a host group. Host groups have already been added. I'm importing firewall policy.

And if you select overwrite, it still comes up each time after?

Haven't selected anything. Overwrite what? There is no policy existing on the new server to overwrite.

    Confusing.
