Hot to clear pending verifications to start from scratch

Created: 08 Nov 2013 | 1 comment

We're using Backup Exec 2010 R3. Recently, due to the fact that backups had grown to where they could no longer fit in the window we could give them, we made the decision to split the Verify steps into separate jobs in our policies. That worked well for a bit, but due to some recent events in which large amounts of time spent restoring data threw our normal backup schedule off, a quantity of the Verify jobs were missed. It appears that they are now trying to "catch up" by running all previously missed Verify jobs. That's a good idea in general, but we've found ourself in a state where it's a practical impossibility to allow the server to run all pending Verify jobs. We need to wipe the slate clean so that the Verify jobs don't interfere with the next day's backups and throw us into further disarray.

So the question: how can I tell Backup Exec that any verify jobs that haven't yet run are to be forgotten? I understand the risks of doing this, but as I said, it's simply not practical for us to legitimately catch up at this point.

Thanks for any help.

...I would say this can only be done by deleting those verify jobs, and then re-adding them back if they are configured to run separately from their parent jobs.
