  • 1.  How to activate the expiration Serial Number to Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1 (Don't want to renew the license)

    Posted Sep 02, 2014 06:06 AM

    This is my situation.

I bought SEP license in this details.

    1. SEP 12.1     5 Seats Licenses     Expiration 5/29/2013

    2. SEP 12.1   60 Seats Licenses     Expiration 7/21/2013

    3. SEP 12.1    8 Seats Licenses      Expiration 7/25/2014

I use one Windows 2003 PC for install Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager for manage all seats.

I already activated all three Serial Number, I create the Client Install Package and install to 73 clients.

It work verry well, no any problem, event the licenses already expire.

But this month the hardisk of management server was broken !!! and I didn't backup anything.

I had to replaced new hardisk and installed Windows 2003 and SEPM 12.1 (same old system).

then i cannot activate all three  serial number, I don't have any seats for my all clients.

    How can it activate it?

I don't want to renew because for save cost and event it expired it still update virus definition, It's OK for us.

    thank you.

1 and 2 are already expired so wont work

    1. SEP 12.1     5 Seats Licenses     Expiration 5/29/2013

    2. SEP 12.1   60 Seats Licenses     Expiration 7/21/2013

You have installed SEP on 73 machines but the third one is valid for 8 machines only

SEP 12.1    8 Seats Licenses      Expiration 7/25/2014 ( even thats expired)

you may need to get in touch with Symantec licensing team and ask them to send new licensing file for the exact number of machines you have installed.

    Hi,

When your current license is about to expire, the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) begins sending license expiration notifications to the Symantec Endpoint Protection administrator. Symantec highly recommends that you renew your license before it expires. To adhere with compliance process you should purchase the new license.

When you renew a license, the expired license is removed and is replaced with a new license. To purchase renewal licenses, visit the Symantec Store, or contact your Symantec partner or preferred Symantec reseller.

Visit the Symantec Store at the following online location:

    http://store.symantec.com/

See Activating your new or renewed Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 product license.
