How to add entries to a non-AD LDAP server with the LDAP Component

I've found exactly ZERO documentation on how to use this component.  I was able to figure out how to use Search, but adding is really convoluted and over-complicated.

Has anyone done this?  Are there docs hidden somewhere that I don't know about?

Can you please provide a better description of what you are trying to achieve as well as what product and component of ours you are trying to accomplish this with.
