Hi
I have looked but cannot find an answer for the following....

Using Backup Exec V12 SP3 and trying to add Drive type LTO3 (400/800Gb)

My only choices are HIC(1) to HIC (24) (located under the Drive/properties/"general" and also "media types"

I can also chnage each tape to an LTO3 but it would be best if the drive type was right.

(the correct driver has been loaded for the drive on the servers hardware as well)

I have a a couple od screen grabs below.

Can anyone help?

regards

Mat

Hi .

Hi

It looks to me that it has detected the Name Certance Correctly but  MEDIA TYPE is not detected corectly.

1  Please make sure the latest CORRECT TAPE DRIVERTS OF SYMANTEC are isntalled for your tape drive
(please check from device manager of OS.)

2 In BE 12.x -- Tools - options - Media
Here you get option to detect tapes as " - here select the correct media type"

This is a known issue for any

This is a known issue for any hardware using the CERTANCEULTIUM 3 inquiry string.
http://entsupport.symantec.com/docs/337350

Although still currently under review, as drives affacted by this issue are now obsolete it is unlikely that we will be changing the current (incorrect) device detection so I would recommend considering updating your tape drive technology.
