  • 1.  How to apply new license to existing symantec system center

    I open the symantec system center 

    opening the group 

    right click open all task and see: live update

                                                    reporting configuration

                                                    symantec cilent firewall

                                                     symantec endpoint complience

                                                     symantec antivirus

    as I know i need to see : symantec license managment tab and it is missing

    how do I install the new license?

    You are using SAV 10 ? It does not have any license management, licences are not enforced. If you also have Symantec Mail Security you might need to import new license there.

    Only Small Business version of Symantec AntiVirus 10.x requires the license file.

    Open Symantec AntiVirus interface - if under "configure" you don't see the "license" section, it means it is the Enterprise edition which works without any license file.

    Hello,

    Could you please let us know the version you are carrying?

    Is that Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 10.2 or 10.1?

    I think Symantec Antivirus Corporate edition 10.2 doesn't need any license file to activate it. It has only a paper license.

    Plus, it is definitelty time to start migrating to SEP.  SAV 10.1 is still currently supported, but only until July 2012. SAV 10.x and SCS 3.x entered End of Life on January 4, 2010, meaning the 30-month Standard Support window will end July 4, 2012.  After that date, AV definitions may no longer be available at all for SAV.

    Be aware as well, that SAV 10.x will be supported only for few more months. Please plan the migration to SEP 12.1 in the near future. Check this for the reference:

    You must have plan of migration at this point.
