    Hey Guys,

    Just wondering for those that have successfully captured a Windows 8.1 image for redeployment, what are your steps.

    Mine is:

    1. Prepare For Capture - OS Type : Windows 8.1(x64)

                                         Product Key: Current

    2. Run Create Image

    3. Boot to Prod

    The actual process goes through just fine, but once the computer comes back up the user profile has non of the changes i made (i pre-config user profile and do Copy Profile)

    Actually All apps are gone for the Start Screen, Cant right click anything, Wall Paper is black.

    Now I've tested running Sysprep locally on the machine with a answer file and it works 100%

    I've also tested running the Prepare for Capture on it's own and thats obsiviously where the issue it happening.

    The only thing i can think of is when running sysprep manually , i run it as the local admin account and when i run the prepare capture task off the console it uses a domain service account.

    Huh.  Well, I'd call that in, OR try logging in as the local admin and run the task as currently logged on user?  I don't know.  That is interesting.  But seriously, if you can pin down what the source of the issue is, let them know so they can take it to Dev.  My 2 cents.

    Never really got a solution from support, but what I've done which seems to work is :

    --> Create a New Task,
    --> choose Create Image
    --> Fill Out Image Name
    --> Image Tool Ghost
    --> Image type is Disk Image

    Then I go

    --> Settings,
    --> Deployment
    --> Intial Deployment
    --> Add Task to Unknown and Managed

    AFter thats done, I create my windows 8.1 image.

    Be sure to run to do the following other wise Sysprep will fail to Run with a Fatal Error

    On the Start menu screen (Tile Screen) Right click Games (green controller icon) and select Uninstall, and do the same for Music (Orange Icon with EarPhones)

    Then run Powershell command prompt as Administrator and Run the the following command .. Note you will see errors but thats normal

    Get-AppxPackage | Remove-AppxPackage

    Now you can manually sysprep your machine and use the create image task you created before.

    saw that in the other post too.  And read the hack necessary for 8.1 and DA.  Ugh.  Remind me not to use 8.1 and imaging unless I scropt around DA.
