How to assign a volume to volume pool through command line?
Do you want to put a volume into a volumepool or do you want to assign it?
Putting volumes in a volumepool is different to assigning it. There is no way to assign a tape manually.
But you can put a tape in a volumepool with vmchange.
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/vmchange -p pool_number -m media_id
this will not assign the medium. It simply put the medium in the pool. This is also only possible if the medium is not assigned.
And do not play arround with assignment. Netbackup will automatically assign medias AND use this for securing the data on tape. So again DO NOT PLAY WITH ASSIGNMENT!
by default all volumes are in Netbackup volume pool right.....?
if u want assign that volumes to another volume pool
just u select that volumes and right click on that volumes..
in that menu select change
