This issue has been solved. See solution.

Can anyone help me on how to backup Remote Linux Servers (Linux OS is Cent OS, Variant of Red Hat 4) Using Veritas Backup Exec 10.0?
We have a license for the Backup Exec RALUS Unix agent
What do I need to install? What's the process?
Many thanks,

Alex

Hello Alex, 1  : We need to

Hello Alex,

1  : We need to download and install RALUS for Backup Exec 10.0 from http://fileconnect.symantec.com by entering any serial number for Backup Exec 10.0
2  : We need to transfer the file on the Linux box using free tools like WinSCP

Please follow the Symantec KB to install RALUS
http://support.veritas.com/docs/282010
Step by step installation of the Backup Exec Remote Agent for Linux and UNIX Servers (RALUS) on the Red Hat Linux platform.

Let me know if you have any issues.

Its a best practice to have a "Support Contract" with Symantec...

Well you can attempt to

Well you can attempt to install RALUS agent but that OS is not supported with the RALUS agent or legacy agent in any version of Backup Exec.  Best effort at this point.

Frist I would upgrade to 10.1  this is free. 10.1 and RALUS support a wider range of Redhad flavors. So you may be able to get away with it but understand you wont have support for backup and restore from symantec.

RALUS agent is faster and more robust

Ralus agent install for 10.1

Legacy Agent

The links above are for 10.1 agent. I would event waste time trying this in 10.0
Hope this helps
