  • 1.  How to block access to IPhone, but still charging normally

    Posted Nov 30, 2015 10:58 AM

    Hi Everyone,

    How are you doing?

I need a help to configure my application and device control policy to block access to IPhone devices, but still charging normally.

Actually, I’ve configured a policy to block by class ID and it’s working fine, but just for IPhone I can’t charge my device.

I got the class ID using dev viewer and I know that others smartphones has the same class ID (example: Samsung Galaxy S5) and for these devices the policy is blocking as I want and charging normally.

    Does anyone know about that?

This issue is only for IPhone devices?

    Thanks for all!

    Regards,

    Lopes

    Hi,

You need to take Class ID's and Device ID's separately & put them as per below screen-shot.

Following is the snapshot of our test lab ADC policy. We could block USB device successfully and charging was also working as expected.

Under block list enter Class id & under exception put Device ID.

    Hi Chetan,

    How are you doing?

    Thanks for you help.

I didn't try to do that configuration yet, because I didn't go back to customer.

For your information, I was talking with a brazilian support and they said me that it will not working, as url below:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH147791

I'll try to do that configuration as you said me and I'll response you after ok?

    Thanks for all.

    Regards,

    Hi Lopes,

    Thanks for the update.

We have tested above shared configuration & could block I-Phone device via USB but charging was not impacted.

In the above shared article it's not mentioned anywhere that cell phone charging will also impacted.
