Try installing PGP again, it might give access to the previously encrypted drive if you know the original passphrase for it.

My HDD is a Segate 500 GB ST95000420AS

James i already installed PGP but it sees the HDD as unencrypted . And i can only encrypt the entire HDD not only a partition , so i can't decrypt only the partition D ( i have 3 , C,D,E )...

I went today with the HDD to a company that recovers data and they couldn't recover any , they didn't manage to access it because of the encryption ...

I'd suggest using the WDE Recovery CD to attempt the decryption of that drive:

    Hi all,

So, I am almost in the same situation, just that I accidentally started a Linux install and it deleted my partition table, now I have a ~500MB first partition and the rest 319GB as unalocated space (seen under another linux box)

I started the drive decryption using the recovery CD now (takes ages...). My question is, what are the chances of getting any of the data back? Mainly interested in NSF files (lotus notes databases).

I need to know so I don't waste my time waiting for the decryption to finish.

Assuming you're able to decrypt the partition then all the data should be recoverable.

The recovery CD will take ages as it only uses 16-bit processing as opposed to the minimum 32-bit used when within the operating system.

A good opensource utility I have heard about is photorec. If the drive is able to succesfully WDE decrypt. You could try using photorec to search for NSF files.
