This issue has been solved. See solution.

I'm stupid.  I'll admit it.  I only created two accounts on my console and only one admin and now it's locked because I typed in the wrong password.  Any ideas how to unlock it?

To reset the password, follow

To reset the password, follow the below steps:

Open a command prompt window.

Navigate to the Tools subfolder in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager directory on the drive and location where you installed the manager.

Note: The default installation path is C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Tools

From the command line run the batch file named "resetpass.bat" This will reset the password to a default user name and password of admin/admin.

4. Following login, user will be prompted to change the password. The password may be the same as the previous password.

I'm not getting an error

I'm not getting an error really.  I can run the resetpass.bat file.  It comes back with English and then apparently ends normally.  After that I try to login as admin/admin and it says that the admin account is locked.

I'm willing to take the hit and point all my systems to a new server if I have to, but if I uninstall the server and reinstall it on the same machine, (small rural school, limited hardware available) will it clear or will it still have registry entries that will hang it up?

Change the system time to one

Change the system time to one hour ahead and then run the resetpass.bat

A reinstall will clear all

A reinstall will clear all the entries. but that will be the last step, try  the step of changing the time  and then see what happens

If you're ever in North

If you're ever in North Central Pennsylvania I owe you a drink.  But why would setting the system time ahead an hour work?

'Symantec Endpoint

'Symantec Endpoint Protection: The Administrator account is locked'
http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/docid/2007112707590648?Open&seg=ent

the acoount get locked when the Log on Attempt Threshold exceeds

This is a database lock

and is not controlled by the manager once set, so running resetpass or other utilities will not change the locked state or time wait required for next log in

.

I was able to get into the DB

I was able to get into the DB and change the admin user password in admin_user table. It doesn't work. Is SMS SMTP using any of MySQL password encryption? What is SMS SMTP password encryption? Anyone? Thanks very much.
