How can package download from Notification Server when Package Server is shutdown?

  • 1.  How can package download from Notification Server when Package Server is shutdown?

    Hi all,

    I am using CMS 7.6 HF7.

I know that the NS will act as PS by default in SMP 7.1. If a new PS is launched, no agent will default to NS even if the PS is not reachable.

I have a PS which will be shutdown for maintenance  in SMP 7.6 now and I have no other PS for the agents to download packages. My question is: how can I conifgure the setting in NS so that the agent can go to the NS for downloading the packages?

    Thank you.

Try to add a "Resource Target" which contains all required client computers for packages downloading and set it as "Manually Assigned Agents" for SMP Site Server on "Site Server Management" page.

    Does it help?

    Note:

    • Don't forget to remove this manual assignment from Notification Server "Site Server"!

    Regards,

    IP.

    Hi IP,

I had sent the issue to Symantec support.

The solution is to renew the snapshot files in NS.

    Thank you for your effort.
