If i understand your question

If i understand your question correctly then you can try following

  1. Create Scheduled scan policy first for a group you can name it as Test with Time which you want to be scheduled
  2. Move machines to this group
  3. Test the machines if they are scanning at the time scheduled
  4. And move all the machines to this group Test which can be renamed in Sepm 12.1.

This is a matter of policy only

Alternatively you can assign the scheduled scan policy to this group too

example group 1 has policy already assigned with time specfied where you want the machines to scan and remaining machines are in another group then go to policies av as policy scheduled scan right click and assign this scan policy to the new group

Or

Simply Inherit the new group with first group and it will take the policies which are assigned to group1 which are configured .

In SEPM you can apply

In SEPM you can apply policies either in group level or in Location level only. So either you have to create a location for those systems or have to create a separate group for these systems.

policies are applied to

policies are applied to group, hence you need to have all the clients to a group or groups having this policy for scheduled scan.

As the other posters said,

As the other posters said, you have to assign the clients to new groups.

After creating the groups (or subgroups), have a look at the MoveClient tool, which you can find at <SEP CD2>:\Tools\NoSupport\MoveClient (SEP 12.1 path). As you have to move a lot of clients into different groups, this rather flexible and powerful script may help you.

Because the customers migrated are distributed in several groups and subgroups .
