You can search for the clients in the SEPM and it will show if it has been upgraded

Clients page >> Under Tasks, select Search clients. Fill in the info you want and hit Search

When the client comes up, double click it and check the Deployment Status on the General tab

Did you set a schedule? If not, it should start happening after the client heartbeats in.

I just did without scheduling and the status on general tab says that

    deployment status: install succesfull

    deployment version running : 12.1

but i see the client still in 11.. after rebooting. ? !

That should go away once the client checks in on the next heartbeat.

What I've found is after the upgrade and on reboot, the machine will start up and SEP will check in and THAN clear it's reboot status. So it takes for the next heartbeat to show properly in the SEPM.

If you want, right click the task tray icon and force it to check in. This should speed up the process. But either way, it should reflect accordingly. Just needs some extra time.

Check the client and ensure it's properly running. If so, just force it to check in.

Do you see any msiexec.exe running on the client side?

    on the client

    start - run

    smc -stop

    smc -start

in the temp folder do you see clt-inst folder?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symatnec community.

After upgrade schedule make sure reboot will also take place.

SEP 12.1 employs a side-by-side, replace on reboot installation strategy. Side-by-side means that new files are written to a new folder, referred to as a silo, isolated from the existing operational folder. Because the two versions are separated from each other, during a migration the older software is left running unchanged until the next reboot.

The primary benefit of side-by-side installation and replace on reboot is that the system continues to be protected by the existing software until the new version is in operation after the reboot.

This technique enables you to change the normal portion of the installation path during a migration, when applicable.

Even after reboot if it's not showing the latest version then need further troubleshoot.

    Hello,

To check the Completion status, you can check the Deployment Report -

SEPM >> Reports >> Quick Report >> Select report Type as "Computer Status" >> Select a report as "Deployment Report"

    Deployment Report.JPG

    Check these Articles:

About the different types of Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Reports

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH95538

About Computer Status reports and logs

    Hope that helps!!
