This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi guys,

I have a san media server who crash 1 bright sunny morning and i need to do a complete restore. The backup speed for this media server is ok (about 32MB/sec) but restore speed crawls at 8MB/sec.

May I know how to check if the restore is done via FC or LAN? Thanks in advance for any help rendered...

Regards,

ck

Hi,   Did you re-install the

Hi,

Did you re-install the san media server + netbackup and then perform the restore, or are you using BMR?

If you reinstalled everything its probably easiest to check in the bpbrm log on the SAN media server, or try and look for the storage unit name in the job details. If its using the SAN media server's storage unit, then its over FC.

via GUI

Hello oughck,

you may check that restore/backup is really done via FC via ADMIN GUI

- in "Activity Monitor"> selecting the job > "Detailed Status", checking if "Opening Fibre Transport connection" statement appears.

- during the restore, in "Devices" > "SAN Clients" > selecting the client > "Actions" > "View FT Connections..". In this case you may see that FC is used during restore job

Hope this helps.
