  • 1.  How to configure LiveUpdate proxy settings for policy updates in DCS?

    I see the below link under the Symantec Critical System Protection Top Articles , however the link is not active..can some one help me on this?

    Thank you Sankara for pointing it out. We are currently working to to have the technote up and running soon.

    EDIT:  I believe that this technote is not available for public viewing.Can you please provide some additional details as to the URL of the Top How to articles?

    CSP post 5.2.8 and DCS 6.0 no longer use Live Update for policies.

    You need to import the policies from the installation media, under the Packs folder.  The policies are distributed with each product release.

    Hi Chuck, Do you mean to say that there won't be any new policies released from Symantec for 5.2.8 and DCS 6.0 ?

     I believe updates to the default policies will now come through normal MP or RU updates.

    No, I am not saying there will not be any more new policies released from Symantec.

    What I am saying is that Symantec CSP and DCS no longer use Live Update to distribute new/updated policies.  

    Going forward you have to import them from the install media when a new build of CSP/DCSS is released (the policies are located in the Packs folder).

    How does DCS download Definitions for Security Virual Appliance Virus and spyware definitions?

    Yes, the SVA will contact the Symantec servers for definition updates.  The proxy settinngs for that are configurable via the SVA Config Base Policy which you create in Policies > Malware Protection.
