you go

file/ specify

there you set your master server

you set you Source (this is the server that had the file when you backed it up)

you set up your Destination (this is the server you want it to go to)

choose your type of backup

----

find your file  and click Start Restore

if you want the file to go to the same place on the destination server as it was on the source server click OK

if you want to to go someplace else  click restore everything to a different  location

put in your location that you want it to go to ( this would be a path on the destination server)

and click OK.

I don't have to know how to spell....I work on Unix.

If you are running this from a client it may not work due to its rights

It is always best (or at least easiest) to run alternate client restores from the Master Server which allows it to be directed to any other client

Hope this helps

Go here: /usr/openv/netbackup/db/altnames and create a file named No.Restriction (This is not recomended but it will do the job)

Otherwise:

Go here (the same location): /usr/openv/netbackup/db/altnames and create a file name <destinate_server>, and in this file, type the <source_server>

That's it, you're done.

Even if you create just the <destination_server> file, it would work, but for any source and not just specifically to parlicular listed in the content of the file.

Thanks.

No need for altnames when restore is done from master.
