  • 1.  How to configure router for SEP11 client access

    Hello,

I just installed a copy of Symantec Endpoint Protection v11.0 and all is well within my local network.  However, i'd like to install the client software on PCs remotely connected to the SEP server via VPN and this is giving me a problem.  I can access the installation package and perform the install on the remote PCs but they do not receive policy updates from the server.  I'm sure it has something to do with my firewall settings.  Does anyone know which ports I need to open on my router to allow these PCs to download updates etc?  Thanks alot!

    Regards

Thanks for yor repy.  I've opened TCP port 8014 and forwarded traffic to the SEP server.  Unfortunately the client PCs are still unable to access the server.  Should I uninstall the client software and try reinstalling or is there something else i may have missed?

Are you creating the installation package on the SEPM and then pushing it out to your clients?

    Check out this guide:

Creating custom client installation packages in the SEPM console:

Turns out that the IP address in the sylink.xml file was wrong on the clients that couldn't connect.  I was able to update the file and now all is well once again.
