    Hello there,

How can I create a bootable floppy or ISO image so I can scan a pc off the network?  The product is Endpoint Protection 11.0.4 MR4.

    Thanks,

    Chris

     Hello Sandeep,

Good news:  Awesome!  Quick response, the best.

Bad news:  I can't believe it!  So I have to risk infecting my entire network with a virus before I have a chance to scan my machine.  Wow!

Anyhow I thing I should be able to install the stand alone client and go from there...

thanks very much for the reply,

    Chris

A few guys had taken up the project to integrate SEP with the PE's, Not sure how far they have got. You might like to get in touch with them to know if any of them has been successful. I am not sure about the legal implications of it though.

While you may not be able to create a bootable floppy, you could always manually update the definitions of the currently installed SEP client using our Intelligent Updater utility.

This way all you would need to do is download the latest definitions from a "known good" machine and then burn the .exe to a CD or put it on a thumb drive and just run the updater to manually update the definitions on the infected machine. Then simply reboot into safe mode and launch a full scan to clean it up. That way you don't have to bring the machine on the network to download the latest definitions.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi all,

If you run into the same problems as me, and cannot wait for Symantec to create a bootable CD. Then here is a nice list...

Would be nicer to use my PAID product instead, but as far as I know there is NO solution other than NSS and winPE...

    Best regards
