How to create notification that SEPM has lost connectivity with Database

  • 1.  How to create notification that SEPM has lost connectivity with Database

Is there a way to create notification that SEPM has been disconnected with the server, without having to log into each and every SEPM and check whether it is up and running?

Is there a running process on the server that indicates that SEPM is connected to the database? Perhaps a script can be run to determine whether the process is running.

    Any ideas?

I just downed my Embedded database service on my 12.1 RU1 SEPM, and it sent me a message automatically.

    Message from:
        Server name: servername
        Server IP: *.*.*.*

The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager database has gone down and needs immediate attention.

I have done nothing special to set up notifications on that SEPM. (It just sent another one, five minutes after the first, to remind me it needed attention.)

If you're using SEP 11.x, you might try Monitors > Notifications > Notification Conditions > Add... and try "Server Health". Alternately you could try "System Event">"Server Activity" or "System Error", then set the Severity to "Error and above".

    Configure a notification

Open and login to the SEPM

    Click Monitors

    Click Notifications

    Click Notification Conditions

    Click Add

    Select system event

check out the required option under "What settings would you like for this notification?"

    Select the Severity type

    Add your email id here.

    Then Ok

hope these point are helping you. :)
