  • 1.  How to deploy SEP Clients in a branch office?

    Posted Feb 13, 2010 12:44 PM

    Hi,

I'm new to SEP. My SEPM is located on a called site A. Another site called site B has 50 XP clients. Site A and site B are connected trough a 1Mbit/s VPN connection. I need to deploy SEP to all 50 clients in Site B.

I tried to deploy one client using the "Find unmanaged Computers" Wizard. It worked but took over 2 hours due to the slow VPN link. What is the recommended way to accomplish my task ?

There are two methods that you can use.

    1. Use the managment server wizrad  to push the package
    2. create a setup for the client install and share that to all the copmuters and then they can copy the file and run it locally

The other method that you can use is  create the setup for the client install and copy that file to one computer on the site B. and then run vpremote.exe so that you can push package all the clients at the same avoiding the wan link.

You can get the  vpremote from the CD2 Tools/PushDeploymentWizard/VPREMOTE.exe
