  • 1.  How to deploy symantec security suite for windows mobile 5

    Does anyone here knows how to deploy symantec security suite for windows mobile 5 on the Palm Treo device over the web or just like installing symantec AV on the client machine on group were i can manage it on the console.

    Hi,
     
    Just transfer the file viz. SymMSS.CAB on to the Palm and then double click the file.
     
    It will automatically gets install. Be sure you have 6 mb free space before installation.
     
    Also note to update the virus definition via GPRS as soon as the software gets install.
     
    Further, the SAV for Windows Mobile doesn't get manage with SSC as like Symantec Antivirus 9.x or 10.x

    If you are working with Symantec Mobile Security Suite 5.1 you can find the most current revision of the product documentation on the following FTP site.

    Page 29 of symms_suite.pdf covers client software installation options.  The Symantec System Center plugin for SMSS or 3rd party Mobile Device Management software sound like the options which most closely describe the deployment method you are looking for.

    I don't believe there is a trial version available for download.  If you are interested I can pass your information to our sales department.  They may be able to provide a product trial, demo or something similar.  I will send a private message with contact information.
