I am not sure that feature is available on the Mac client for SEP. Anyone else want to chime in?

Macs cannot be found through Find Unmanaged Computers or Migration and Deployment Wizard.  SEP for Mac must be distributed through alternate means (such as Apple Remote Desktop).

Or do you mean Location Awareness as in applying policies based on criteria of current Mac clients?  This isn't possible either to the best of my knowledge.

I think the best way is to create a separate group for MAC clients and move them to that group.....

    thanks for replies
i mean that location awareness use i need for special liveupdate policies

the manual moving them to special gpoup is not good for us for some reasons

sorry, at this point the Mac client is not location aware.

It will only update from LiveUpdate servers, so the easiest way to make sure it updates both inside and outside the network is either to use Symantec LiveUpdate, or add both your internal LiveUpdate servers and our external servers to the list that the Mac client will contact.

We are looking at adding location awareness to a later version of the Mac client.

Location awareness capabilities in Snow Leopard have nothing to do with SEP's location awareness; as Paul has already mentioned, SEP for Mac clients are not location aware (i.e. they will not change policies based on where the client thinks it is based on criteria supplied).

Actually, I have recently been assembling a 'SEP for Mac FAQ'.  I have just published it to the web, so give it time  to propagate if you get an error when trying to load the page, and try again in a bit.  Under References there are a LOT of document links.

What are you trying to accomplish, deployment via drive image?  That I don't know off the top of my head, but I'll see what I can find.

We have completed testing in our Mac lab and now have a document for deploying via disk image.  It was only written and published this morning, so you may not yet be able to see it.  If you get an error when clicking through, just keep trying.

We have not yet done any testing re: removing the UIDs once registered, though.

    Thanks,
