    Is there a way to automatically detect USB internet modems on the business network.

    Do anyone has idea on this.

    Hi Rosh,

    can you please explain what are you looking for?

    Application and Device control policy can block the modems using the Hardware device Id's.

    Change the policy to either enforce or just log the events. Test or Prod.

    Hi Pete,

    Thanks for your prompt response.

    I did implemented Application and devise control policy with some exception for some devises.

    I am trying find the solution, if some user plugins USB internet modem then IT should trace it.

    Here the internet is restricted to some users. The other users are trying to browse the internet through their personal USB modems.

    What is your Symantec Endpoint Protection version?

    I would suggest using the latest available 11.0.6300.762

    Thanks for the solution. Partly my problem is solved.

    We have two groups, one with enable usb and other one with disable usb.

    For enable USB group, if some one uses USB internet modem, how can I find it.

    using the devviewer to know the ID!
