how to determine the file is a virus file?

if i can connect my usb device in one system where symantec avaialble after my work if i can connect it in another system and

where other antivirus available and that av detect virus in the usb which file is not detected by symantec then what the action i can do?

what the step i can check from my end?

Hi,

 I don't think you really can do that without anti-virus software. Why would you want to anyway? If you know the name of the virus then click "Start" and then "Search".

 

If you have already installed antivirus on your system then do a ful scan on the system and then you will be able to find out that your system having virus infection or not.

Submitting suspicious files to Symantec allows us to ensure that our protection capabilities keep up with the ever-changing threat landscape. Submitted files are analyzed by Symantec Security Response and, where necessary, updated definitions are immediately distributed through Liveupdate to all Symantec end points. This ensures that other computers nearby are protected from attack. The following resources may help in identifying suspicious files for submission to Symantec.
