How do I delete associations with old computer accounts

Hey Everyone:

I have a question about licensing – How do I remove old computer accounts from the RS license count?

As I replace computers for our employee's, I give the new computer a different name and re-install RS.  I've noticed the old computer account lingeres in the 'computers with RS agent installed' report and that the old account is still holding a seat for one of our licenses.  I can delete accounts from the ‘computers with RS agent installed’ report, but haven't noticed a correlation with deleting the account a a license freeing up.

We are running Altiris RS 6.2 SP3, build 2801 and NS 6.0.6074 (SP3 + R9)

Any help would be appreciated.

Deleting old accounts

The reason the old account is still consuming a license is due to the old computers information still residing in the Altiris database.

In order to reclaim a license you must purge the computer from the Altiris database. Setting the computer to retired might clear up the license.

Deleting Old Accounts

Thanks for your response!

That did the trick, I was able to retire the accounts - I refreshed our licensing info and noticed an immediate change!
