Endpoint Protection

I tried to follow instructions to re-install  Live Update- following instructions online

I saved my Live Update directory to a backup space - then removed contents from LiveUpdate directory.

I attempted to run lsetup.exe  - nothing seems to happen

NOW - live update will not run at all . . . .  

I have virus def as of Sept 18th (warning)

Proative threat updated - Oct 19

Network Threat updated - Oct 19

Help - Please

seems like it was able to update defs; now its october 19th

however Antivirus is not gettting udpated

go to add/remove programs

select symantec endpoint

slect modify

run a repair of the install..

you can install liveupdate from CD1, do u have that handy?

I re-installed LIVEupdate - it runs for 40 minutes now BUT then LiveUpdate fails with

same code 536805375

ANd used about 200 MB of C: drive

i think you are using a different version of liveupdate

downlaod LU3.3

uninstall liveupdate from add/remove programs

Delete all liveupdate folders ( Do a search for this)

install Livupdate

do a repair of SEP from add/remove programs

open control pannel

open liveupdate 

select interactive mode, click ok

start -run check only Antivirus defintions; check if that downloads..

It updated all 3 files - but still reported the error and used up over 250 MB on my C:drive

Is there anyway to move some or ALL of the files to D: partitions ?

Thats nice; Virus defs always get installed on OS drives so it will always be on C drive ; cannot change it

since this is a full download the initial download wil be large; after that it will be only incremental

once updated you can delete all the files in 

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Downloads

you can also set the space to be used under 

control pannel - Liveupdate (there is a setting to limit space) 

what is the error its reporting....try rebooting the box ; it should fix it :)
