How do I get an updatet vius def. file to my old Antivirus program ?

Created: 21 Sep 2013 | 3 comments

On my COWI employer bought home DELL / Vista PC, I use Symantec AntiVirus from 2006, and SARC Intelligent Updater version 4.01.59, which seems not to update my virus def. file no more. My def.s file is from Aug 19th 2013 (more than 30 days old).

What do I do to make the SARC download a fresh def.s file ?

This is because SAV went end of life (EOL) on July 4th 2012. Technical support or product updates are no longer provided.

You to migrate to SEP, preferably 12.1

Migrating from Symantec AntiVirus or Symantec Client Security to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 or later

"Thumbs up" to Brian's answer.  SAV 10.x is past EOL.  No new definitons are being issued for that product.

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 provides much better defenses than SAV: definitely do upgrade!

With thanks and best regards,
