How do I make a Boot CD for use in scanning an infected Hard Drive?

I've got Symantec Antivirus 10.1.4

I'm getting very frustrated, this should be alot easier that this   ;-(

As far as I know SAV does not have any option to make a Boot CD for scanning infected hard drives directly. The best option you have is calling into support and tell them exactly what you are wanting to do. They should be able to provide you with a copy of NSS (Norton Security Scan). If you can then get some sort of a bootable disk (which we can't provide) and then run NSS. This should be what you are looking to do. I think the better way to do this though is to attach the infected hard drive as a slave to another machine. You can then have the os on the master drive have your SAV 10 run a scan on the slave. If this is not possible for you then the only option I see is to call in and get a copy of NSS, but I really think the later option I suggested is much easier. Hopefully this helps.

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to post the newest information for future users who might stumble upon this thread in the future.

While SAV does not have a Boot CD there is one available with the download of SEP RU6 or as a separate download (which is nice for all of our SAV users!). Here is a link where you can find out more information:
