Going forward, I would suggest you get first hand training on NBU, or refer to a consulting group for assistance in configuring and tuning NBU.

"This is not a product you tinker with or change settings just because it bothers you..." That made me laugh. And yes, NetBackup is a very complex product. But generally speaking, backup utilities and A/V do have a tendency to not like each other.

It is compromising a considerable amount of disk space bringing it down to 0kb and prevents a multifunction server from doing its job and since I can not restart a server everytime this issue occurs it must be brought under control. I don't have the time or resources to get the training. It is an issue that can not wait for training, and I have opened a trouble ticket with Symantec so that I may finally get this issue resolved once and for all.
