How do I remove CC agents after upgrading to CMS7
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 3 comments
I set up the uninstall Carbon Copy agent policy about a week before we upgraded to CMS7. Unfortunately I went away for the week and my staff did the upgrade before I could check that all the agents were removed. Now we have upgraded and there are still a lot of CC agents out on clients trying to send information to the NS. As NS has been upgraded and CC is no longer on the server, I'm getting a lot of ItemNotFound errors in my event queue.
Is it possible to uninstall the agents remotely without it being available as a policy via NS (unless it is still there and I can't find it)? I'm assuming there should be some sort of command I can run to remove it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Greg

The only thing I can think of
would be to build a VM with v6 CMS on it, and get a Carbon Copy agent package from the install. Altiris\Symantec support can most likely provide you with this as well. If those options don't work, PM me, and I'll try and work something out.

CC uninstall cmd line
The CC uninstall command line is:
ccunsetup.exe -q
So I guess you'll need to track down this ccunsetup.exe file. Hopefully it still is on your NS in the old NS6 install directory at:
X:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\NSCap\Bin\Win32\X86\Carbon Copy Package
Acutally I have it on my box (for CC 6.1 at least), and have attached it.

OK, I haven't attached it as it seems I can't attach a file to a thread. LMK if you want it and I'll send it to you.
